Game of Thrones is an American fantasy drama television series. It is an adaptation of "A Song of Ice and Fire", Gerorge.R.RMartin's series of novels, the first of which is titled "A Game of Thrones". Set in the fictional Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the series chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the realm's noble families for control of the Iron Throne.With dozens of characters playing out the story in a handful of far-flung locations, Game of Thrones demands a certain level of patience and commitment from a viewer.
Here are five things to love about this show:
1.The power plays: Game of Thrones isn’t about castles or dragons or sword fighting. It’s about power.It’s about the struggle for the Iron Throne and the seven kingdoms that come with it. And sure, there are elaborate and entertaining battles fought by guys in armor, but just as often the balance of power is swung not by a broadsword but by a backroom deal. Shakespeare fared pretty well with similar material.
The main antagonists are two rival families, the Starks and the Lannisters (headed by Boy King Joffrey who is one of the most gloriously depraved characters in television history.) But there are a variety of contenders and disrupters around the fringes who don’t always play by the rules, including one rapidly rising power with, yes, dragons.
2..A lot of thought went into casting the right person for each role. Because Game of Thrones is so driven by character development, casting needed to take precedence over everything else. And it appears thatcasting director Nina Gold understood this imperative. There are few household names in the cast, most of the choices seem perfectly spot-on at first glance: e.g., Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister, John Bradley as Samwell Tarly, Kit Harrington as Jon Snow, Conan Stevens as Gregor Clegane.
3.The razor sharp writing: Game of Thrones is basically written in dialect. Get past the “m’lords” and you’ll find some of the most finely crafted dialogue on television.
4.The meritocracy: An outsider is Daenerys Targaryen, played by Emilia Clarke. She begins the story as a pawn, the beautiful sister of a venal, ambitious pretender to the throne who casts her away in a clumsy power grab. But she’s the one who takes power with both hands, persuading powerful men not with her beauty, but with her conviction and ambition. 5. It keeps you wanting more: Being based on a best-selling series of novels is always a good start, but the pacing of Game of Thrones, from episode one of season one, has always been perfectly measured. Granted, there are some episodes that focus more on character development than plot, but these are meaty enough to keep you sustained until the plot starts rolling again.

Aquí hay 5 razones por las que deberías ver esta serie:
1.El juego del poder: Game of Thrones no es todo sobre dragones y lucha de espada. Es sobre el poder. Es sobre la lucha para el trono de hierro y los siete reinos que vienen con ella. Y por supuesto hay luchas entretenidas entre hombres armados, pero el balance del poder no se hacía en combate sino en pactos.

Fueron muchos largos días de casting para cada personaje: Porque en "Game of Thrones" la idea principal es el caracter de los personajes, el equipo de casting necesitó mucha paciencia para elegir a cada personaje. Y parece que el director del casting, Nina Gold, entendió estos términos. Son unos pocos personajes que parecen que fueron elegidos a primera vista, como por ejemplo: Peter Dinklage como Tyrion Lannister, John Bradley como Samwell Tarly, Kit Harrington como Jon Snow, Conan Stevens como Gregor Clegane.
3. El estilo del guión: "Game of Thrones" está escrito en dialecto. Si ves más allá de los :"m'lords" , encontrarás uno de los más delicados diálogos en la historia de la televisián.

5.Te deja querer más: Siendo basada en una serie de libros "best seller" representa siempre una ventaja importante, pero el ritmo de "Game of Thrones", desde el primer episodo de la primera temporada, ha sido siempre perfectamente medido. Hay algunos episodios que se centran más en el desarollo de los personajes que en la acción, pero con eso basta para seguir interesado en la serie...
